new year, same God

God, thank You for all that You have done this past year. from low lows to high highs, You have been right beside me through it all. thank You for the trials You sent my way, for i know it to be considered pure joy as it is written that the testing of my faith produces steadfastness.

let me not forget what You showed me in 2022, and i pray that in 2023 You would give me a heart that seeks You, and a heart of persistence. to always be on the look for You, to search for You earnestly in my days, always wondering ‘how is God going to show up today?’. i pray that these glimpses of You would drive me into conversation with You, thanking You for revealing Yourself to me.

Lord, i know there will be challenges ahead in this upcoming year, but i take heart in knowing that You have overcome the world, i take heart in knowing that this isn’t my true home. give me a heart that is desiring to stockpile my treasures in Heaven, and not be chasing treasures that will become destroyed by moth and rust.

hold my hand God, for without You i don’t know where to go – my heart is dependent upon You, i am helpless without You. don’t let me go. help me to feel Your comfort each day, and when i don’t give me the strength, give me the faith to believe that You are still right beside me. for it is in this ambiguity, of you standing on the edge, not front and center, that i see the character of my faith developed. that i press into you, and not walk away.

i know you aren’t just an answering machine God, give me the patience to leave my prayers with You. for the patience to hang in there while i await Your miracle God.

i want to learn more about You, God, i want to learn more about Your character. help me to go, without hesitation, to whatever it is You are calling me to step into this year. for if You call me there, it is You i will find there. i want to be a vessel for you in 2023. use me like i can’t imagine and transform my world. renew me each day so i don’t get tired along this journey. help me to be a force for Your Kingdom.

thank You for all that you are going to do this year. i wait patiently. i wait expectantly.
